If you are able to load the content on your computer without infringing copyright laws, you’re allowed to circumvent whatever the website has in place to store whatever data you would like from whatever website you would like, regardless of the nature of the site, so long as the content is legal (is not CP) and again not being presented in a way that infringes aforementioned copyright laws.

If you’re asking why the copyright laws exist, I can’t really help you with that one.

If you’re referring to the last line, I say I wouldn’t want authorities to find it because I don’t want to have to explain it. I’m 99% sure someone would not just store links to a bunch of pirated content for fun, they probably have accessed said pirated content, now you have to explain to the authorities why you have links to pirated content without implicating yourself in copyright infringement.

Like I said, probably fine, I just wouldn’t want the hassle if I somehow got caught.

That being said, while not necessarily illegal, I wouldn’t want authorities to find my bomb and drug ingredients, or my scraped piracy links, as I’d probably have some 'splainin to do.

Not sure what exactly you’re saying, many places were not allowing real estate agencies to do showings of houses during COVID, it wasn’t about wearing a mask or not you literally could not get an appointment to look at the house.

My guess is they meant you sound like a “default character” voice (I feel like that sounds negative but I don’t mean it that way). Like if you were to be the narrator for a menu, a random character, the main character’s friend etc, your voice wouldn’t be distracting or feel out of place. Maybe the voice of an audiobook or online language course or something?

As soon as I saw Kevin Hart casted for Roland I knew it was a corporate cash grab. I liked his standup when I was like 12 but I honestly can’t name an acting role I’ve liked him in.

When I had really bad posture and decided to start fixing it I would just set a timer for like 5 minutes, when it goes off posture check and reset, once you get used to it do ever 15 minutes, then 30 etc… now years later if I slouch in my chair for more than a few minutes it feels really uncomfortable and I sit back up

Speed isn’t a problem, sacrificing requirements for speed is

“Machined” doesn’t mean “homemade”, it’s a manufacturing method meaning that the threads of the bolt/nut were cut from a smooth piece of metal (as opposed to being cast or forged from a mold). Machined hardware is more likely to have defects like tiny nicks in the threads or bent threads that can damage/ destroy whatever you’re using it to fasten. You can usually tell pretty quickly if you’ve got a shitty bolt or nut if you’re threading it by hand - any irregularities are easy to feel. But if you just blast it with a power drill right off the rip, you won’t feel any of it, and might end up with an unplanned permanent fixture.

Perspective from a mid-twenties American. I realized it was horseshit during the 2016 Trump election.

I was turning 18 just in time to vote in this election, and it was right around then that I started forming my own ideas about politics and what political “side” I stood on. Like a majority people with a semi-functioning brain, I thought Trump was an actual joke, a meme that had no chance at actually winning, like how we were acting when Kanye ran. Unironically, I thought that having trainwrecks of a leader was something that “other countries” did, obviously America wouldn’t let someone like this win because even though we make little mistakes here and there like Iraq and slavery we’re still the good guys and we wouldn’t actually let a moron like Trump become our president.

When it became obvious that he was more than a joke and an actual serious candidate with high potential to win, I realized that the only people consistently talking about how amazing America was at everything were the people voting for him, and I started dissecting the things I’d taken for granted.

Yeah, I’d actually forgotten about it since I’ve been here for so long but the joke “there’s a sub for everything” is actually completely true and one of the things I miss, even if it’s an inactive community you can 80% of the time find a subreddit with a few dozen posts to check out. I used to just hit “random” until I found an interesting one. I feel like I’d cycle through all the communities on my instance in a couple of days.

That being said I love the small feeling here compared to Reddit and if I had to choose between “small community with conversation” and “unlimited dopamine trickle tap” I’d rather it stay as it is
