It’s a big country. Modern construction is rarely built to last, but there are millions of homes here that would fit your description without issue.

Yeah, this is the normal price of a house in many large cities. It’s a lot mind you, but an adult in a high paying field can get a mortgage that covers that.

You don’t need a million dollars to buy a million dollar house. You need to be able to make a million dollars and enough to live on in 30yrs, or whatever the length of the mortgage is. Someone in their 30s-40s can fit that bill, so just be yourself.

If they ask if you have financing, say yes. If they ask more questions, say you will be glad to discuss that after the tour. Afterwards, just politely say you’re not interested and leave.

I haven’t heard of anything else besides MAC being broadcast during the searching phase. Can you give an example or technical term?

They use randomized MACs there too.

You can set MACs to not randomize for specific WiFi, but by default it’s on and random.

IPhone/android randomize their MAC addresses now to prevent this kind of long term tracking.

Stores will see you walking the store anonymously and be able to create a general customer heatmap, but since this virtual MAC rotates, they won’t be able to correlate this to you indivdually long term.

AndOTP is great. Its free and had simple and easy encrypted backups. I love how its timer counts down, not up like some others and highlights the token in red so you know you need to hustle or wait.

Keepass. Standalone FOSS apps for desktop/phone. Has OTP support.

Password/tokens are stored in a small encrypted db file you can copy/paste anywhere you need it. Has hundreds of plugins to do various things.

Use something like syncthing/nextcloud/onedrive to keep the file in sync across devices.

The CTO of a competitor, Sentinel one, was just on the security podcast Risky buisness. He went deep into how his company does this.

Apprently, their client touches the kernel much less, so it is less likely to cause issues. They also have a large internal test bed that updates have to pass to go out at all, and then if they have a 2% failure rate during the wide deployment, the update is automatically stopped.

Crowdstrike does almost none of this. There core client is deep in the kernel, making it powerful and dangerous. They apprently do test on their local machines, but the company is an apple shop, so none of the windows updates was tested locally. The updates pushed out started crashing computers immediately, but weren’t stopped for 78 minutes by manual intervention. That was long enough to crash 8 million computers across the world.

There are kernel modules, and then there are kernel modules.

Based on conversations from the CTO of sentinel one, a crowdsrike competitor, the crowdstrike client is intentionally engineered with a lot of and way deeper hooks then most of the industry. This makes their engine powerful and very dangerous. The other vendors in the space touch the kernel as little as possible, moving everything they can into userspace to minimize any possible damage.

The fact that crowdstrike was fully in the kernel and then running basically no tests while deploying updates is the reckless fuck up.
