Language is constantly evolving. There is no clear line. New words are added, meanings change, and it depends on the intent of the speaker too.

A modern standard for indoor lighting receptacles.

It’s silly that we ship a driver and circuit board packed into the lightbulb just to make it compatible with screw bulb receptacles. We should have a new socket that accepts efficient lightbulbs and that can reuse or modularize driver electronics. Instead, the market has gone for full integration at the expense of the consumer.

If you build a new home these days, you get the lightbulb and fixture integrated together. This necessitates replacing the entire assembly when it fails, and when you have to do this eventually you’re going to have mismatched indoor lighting unless you had the foresight to buy extra units.

We need a new lightbulb socket standard, but for modern lighting.

Aren’t newer versions of the device waterproof? Though, you may be using a version that didn’t have that feature yet.

I can independently write different text with both hands at the same time just as easily as writing with only one hand. I consider this a useless skill because I rarely ever write with an actual pen or pencil, so being able to write with both hands simultaneously doesn’t add anything.

I drove a base model Ford Fiesta about five years ago that did not ship with cruise control functionality of any kind. I was surprised as well, but the practice does exist.

I’m less certain. Lots of intelligent people can get caught up in such things. Religion depends also on upbringing and cultural background.

I found school incredibly inefficient. There were subjects in which I did so well that the standard curriculum left me feeling uninspired and bored because I wasn’t being challenged enough. In other subjects, the class moved too fast and I got left behind.

Also, physical education was often neglected in secondary and post-secondary in favor of more academic subjects. Given the cardiovascular disease epidemic, I think that was a mistake. How can you have a healthy mind without a healthy body?
